A 30-year wellness pioneer trades soft self-help for something sharper that delivers tangible results. Her new book is a trailblazing guide to building unshakable mental toughness and emotional resilience, one impeccable day at a time.
You are exhausted. Not from doing too much, but from bleeding energy in a thousand invisible ways. The drama you did not ask for. The guilt that loops on repeat. The low hum of anxiety beneath everything you do. Author Karen Bentley built her new book around a single, provocative question: what if all of it could stop?
Her answer arrives in The WarriorSTRONG Manifesto, published April 16, 2026. It is, by design, not a gentle book. A manifesto, as Bentley reminds her readers, is a bold, unapologetic declaration of new and revolutionary ideas. Bentley lays out what she calls the uncommon, countercultural life of the everyday warrior, a path built on the strategic accumulation of personal power.
A Different Kind of Strength
Most people, Bentley argues, spend their lives on autopilot, controlled by what she calls the “ego robot,” the unconscious programming that drives us to waste our life force on revenge fantasies, self-judgment, and reactivity that leaves us drained, stuck, and small. The warrior’s strategy is the opposite. It’s the impeccable use of life energy, energy that’s consciously conserved, deliberately accumulated, and carefully redeployed.
She likes to compare it to money. “Saving life energy works the same way saving money works,” she writes. “Money is saved by not spending it.” Stop the leaks, and your reserves compound into something real: a stronger, calmer, more powerful version of yourself. This is not, she insists, about meditating your problems away or thinking positive thoughts. It is about the deliberate elimination of waste and the precise redirection of what you save.
Three Skills, Not Twenty
What sets the book apart from the crowded self-help shelf is its refusal to be self-help at all. Bentley reframes the whole enterprise as self-determination. Where most programs hand readers a sprawling checklist, hers narrows the work to three high-impact skills: STOPPING any habitual behavior, HARMLESSNESS (overriding the impulse to self-destruct or seek revenge), and EXTREME SELF-CARE, which means taking care of yourself like you actually mean it.
Three skills to learn, not twenty. Three to practice. Three to fold into daily life. Warriors then live by a DailyCode, a self-determined set of tasks done every day with the single goal of living one impeccable day. The reward, she promises, is that walking your talk turns out to be a joyful way to live.
Who It Is For
Bentley wrote the book for high performers and aspiring ones, the readers who crave inner strength and self-mastery but feel underutilized, unfulfilled, and frankly tired of soft, generic advice. Whether someone is facing burnout, recovering from substance abuse, navigating chronic anxiety, or simply ready to stop playing small, the manifesto offers a clear, doable strategy for stepping out of an ordinary life and into the extraordinary one they were meant to live.
All that said, Bentley has one warning to anyone who picks up the book, and it’s this: once the mind is opened, it can never be closed.
The Woman Behind the Manifesto
Bentley is no newcomer to transformation. An author, educator, and entrepreneur, she spent 30 years as a pioneer in the sugar-free and carb-smart nutrition movement and created The Sugar-Free Miracle Diet System, the LOVE Experience, and the WarriorSTRONG training programs. A summa cum laude graduate of Northeastern University in education and exercise physiology, she also won the Boston Bouve Award for highest academic achievement. Bentley freely admits to being nerdy and a lifelong learner who continues seeking out leading-edge scientific resources.
Her passion and purpose is to help others become strong and unbreakable. “I had the good fortune,” says Bentley, “ to have multiple challenging behaviors, challenging relationships, and difficult, challenging situations.” Those hardships forced her to develop the mindset, skills, and wisdom to thrive and to love herself no matter what. “My superpower is being a living demonstration of what’s possible, so that others can copy it and do it, too.”
Bentley, along with her late husband Bill Bentley, also co-founded The Bentley Company, a consulting organization specializing in help desk solutions for large multi-national corporations.
A Bigger Dream Taking Shape
In 2025 Bentley made a lifelong dream come true by purchasing a quirky property in Stafford Springs, Connecticut with two churches on it. One will be a residence and the other will be The Big Heart Center, a place where love is taught, experienced and celebrated. The Center features a Warrior’s Academy, a Heart Museum (a Guinness record is on her wish list), and a public garden built around a forgiveness labyrinth. The book and the center share a purpose: to give people a place and a method, for becoming their own hero.
Bentley’s invitation comes directly from her heart to yours. Power, as she puts it, begins the moment you decide to be WarriorSTRONG. You are one decision away from a totally different life. Who you were yesterday is irrelevant. This is your moment. Take it, own it, and as Bentley would say, game on.
